Principal Facilities Officer
About The Role
Working Hours: 35 Hours Per Week
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent Closing Date: 03 July 2026 Closing time: 11.59pm Interview Method: Face to Face This role is subject to - 2 References - where possible we require 3 years' history.Driving Licence – The successful candidate should hold a full clean driving licence as you will be required to drive a vehicle adhering to council regulations.
Facilities Management is part of the Growth and Development Directorate and works across MCC providing a range of support services, compliance, and workplace solutions.
Responsibilities of a Principal Facilities Officer include (but are not limited to):
- To lead the development and maintenance of service delivery standards.
- Ensure efficient processes and systems are in place and maintained to effectively support service delivery needs.
- Ensure that appropriate systems are maintained and used effectively to record, retain and enable the sharing and monitoring of data and information in order to identify trends and inform decision making.
- To develop and maintain effective working relationships with all relevant stakeholders including internal and external suppliers of services ensuring compliance with specifications and Health & Safety requirements.
- Safeguard the working environment and resources against theft, vandalism or damage by means of managing appropriate security systems and procedures ensuring compliance with regulations and represent best industry practice.
- Contribute to effective business planning processes to ensure services are responsive to business needs and achieve the aims and objectives of the service.
Roles at this level will be required to undertake management of resources, including human and financial. Staff management may be through direct line management of a team (including appraisals, performance management and other duties) or through matrix management of a virtual team of officers.
About the Candidate
The successful candidate for this role must be able to demonstrate the generic behaviours and skills as listed on the role profile. In addition, they will have high profile customer service experience. The role holder must be flexible and able to work under pressure in a changing and conflicting environment.
