Start Date: September 2026 Are you a compassionate and resilient teacher with a passion for supporting young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? A welcoming specialist school in Sheffield is seeking a committed SEMH Teacher to join their team from September 2026. About the Role: As an SEMH Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of students with SEMH needs. You will create structured learning opportunities that build confidence, encourage progress and support pupils both academically and personally. Working closely with teaching assistants and the wider school team, you will help ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed in a safe and supportive environment. Responsibilities: * Plan and deliver engaging lessons that meet the individual needs of students with SEMH needs. * Assess, monitor and record student progress. * Differentiate learning to support a range of abilities and learning styles. * Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment. * Promote positive behaviour using consistent and effective strategies. * Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, carers and external professionals where appropriate. * Contribute to pupils' academic, social and emotional development. Requirements: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. * Experience teaching children or young people with SEMH needs, SEND or within an alternative provision is desirable. * Strong classroom and behaviour management skills. * Excellent communication and organisational skills. * A patient, adaptable and empathetic approach to teaching. * An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
