Caretaker - Ipswich
Our client, a well-established independent 11–18 day school in Ipswich, is seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join their Estates team ASAP . This is a full-time, permanent role offering the opportunity to maintain and enhance the school’s excellent facilities within a welcoming and professional environment.

About the Role
The Caretaker will be responsible for the smooth running and upkeep of the school’s buildings, grounds, and facilities. You will ensure a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for pupils, staff, and visitors. The role includes monitoring site security, performing routine maintenance, and supporting events and school functions.
Key responsibilities include:
• Opening and closing the school site, including security checks
• Performing minor maintenance and repairs
• Reporting and coordinating larger repairs with contractors
• Supporting school events and extracurricular activities
• Ensuring compliance with health & safety and site procedures
The Ideal Candidate
• Previous experience in facilities management, caretaking, or maintenance preferred
• Practical skills in plumbing, electrical, or general maintenance advantageous
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Friendly, approachable and proactive
