Software Developer - Tier 1 Hedge Fund - Excellent Compensation + Benefits

I’m working with a leading hedge fund in London that is seeking an experienced Software Developer to join their Technology team in London.
This is a front-footed, business-facing engineering role focused on building and scaling tools that support mortgage origination, valuation, analytics, and reporting — one of the firm’s most strategically important investment areas.
As part of this team, you’ll design and deliver production-grade Python applications that automate workflows, modernise legacy systems, and bridge the gap between current and next-generation infrastructure. You’ll work directly with stakeholders across investments, risk, finance, and operations, driving tangible business impact through technology.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain Python-based tools supporting mortgage analytics, valuation, and reporting.
- Develop production-grade applications and contribute to the migration of legacy models.
- Identify automation opportunities across data pipelines, analytics, and reporting.
- Collaborate with business teams to gather requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
- Champion best practices in testing, documentation, and maintainability.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Experience delivering solutions in business-facing environments.
- Exposure to mortgages, fixed income, or structured assets desirable.
- Familiarity with Rust or C++ beneficial but not required.
- Strong problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
