Bookkeeper

Bristol | Up to £34,000 DOE | Permanent | Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm An established and friendly professional services business is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join the team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with a variety of clients, managing their own workload, and building strong professional relationships. You will be responsible for providing bookkeeping support across a portfolio of clients, ensuring financial records are maintained accurately and deadlines are met. Key Responsibilities:
- Managing day-to-day bookkeeping activities
- Maintaining purchase and sales ledgers
- Performing bank reconciliations
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Processing financial transactions and maintaining accounting records
- Preparing information for year-end accounts
- Liaising with clients regarding financial queries
- Providing general administrative support related to accounts functions
- Assisting with CIS administration where required
- Previous bookkeeping experience is essential
- Experience within a professional practice environment would be advantageous
- Good understanding of bookkeeping principles and VAT
- Confident using accounting software
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Professional and confident communicator
- Able to manage workload independently and prioritise effectively
- CIS experience would be an advantage
- Salary up to £34,000 depending on experience
