Our client, a respected educational institution in Richmond upon Thames, London, is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join their dynamic team. This full-time position offers a competitive daily rate of £108.68 - £120, providing an excellent opportunity for an individual passionate about supporting students' educational and personal development.
As a Learning Support Assistant , you will play a crucial role in ensuring the academic success and wellbeing of our diverse student population. Your primary responsibilities will include providing one-on-one or small-group support to students with varying learning needs, ranging from those requiring additional assistance to students with special educational requirements. You will work closely with teachers, administrators, and other support staff to develop and implement tailored learning strategies, ensuring that each student receives the individualised attention and resources they need to thrive.
In this role, you will be expected to:
- Assist students with a wide range of academic subjects, helping them to understand concepts, complete assignments, and prepare for examinations
- Collaborate with teachers to identify students' specific learning needs and design appropriate intervention plans
- Provide support for students with special educational needs, such as those with physical, cognitive, or emotional disabilities
- Facilitate small-group activities and one-on-one sessions to reinforce learning and build students' confidence
- Maintain detailed records of students' progress and regularly communicate with teachers and parents/guardians
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to continuously improve your skills and knowledge
- Contribute to the creation of a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment that empowers students to reach their full potential
To be successful in this position, you will need to possess a range of skills and qualifications, including:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience working as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar educational support role
- A relevant qualification in education, such as a degree, diploma, or certification in teaching, special education, or a related field
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and effectively collaborate with students, teachers, and parents/guardians
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities, enabling you to juggle multiple tasks and responsibilities
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the academic and personal growth of young people
- Familiarity with a variety of teaching methodologies and assistive technologies that can be used to enhance student learning
