What you will do:

* Deliver outstanding standards of clinical care to surgical patients undergoing orthopaedic procedures.

* Lead, support, and develop the Orthopaedic Scrub Team, promoting excellence in clinical practice.

* Provide mentorship, coaching, supervision, and educational support to team members at all levels.

* Create and maintain a positive, supportive, and effective learning environment for staff development.

* Support induction programmes, competency assessments, and continuous professional development activities.

* Act as a role model for best practice, clinical governance, and patient-centred care.

* Drive service development initiatives and contribute to quality improvement projects.

* Participate in a varied orthopaedic caseload, ensuring safe and efficient patient care throughout the perioperative pathway.

* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve excellent clinical outcomes and patient experiences.

* Ensure compliance with professional standards, clinical guidelines, organisational policies, and regulatory requirements.

* Monitor and support clinical practice standards across the theatre department.

* Contribute to workforce development planning and succession planning initiatives.

Person Specification:

* Current NMC or HCPC registration.

* Medical and/or surgical experience within a hospital environment.

* Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

* Strong understanding of clinical standards and governance within a surgical setting.

* Ability to work across multiple clinical departments as required.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

* Strong interpersonal, leadership, and team-working abilities.

* Good computer literacy and administrative skills.

* Flexible approach to working patterns and service requirements.
