This role provides visible professional and clinical leadership working at a system level, to integrate multi professional clinical workforce intelligence, professional practice, clinical information and assurance into strategic commissioning, supporting the ICB to deliver improved outcomes, reduced inequalities and value for money.The postholder will ensure that strategic commissioning decisions, service models and transformation programmes are clinically informed, safe, evidence-based and aligned to population need and professional standards across all professions. - Educated to master's degree level (postgraduate studies) or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
- Hold a current AHP registration
- Extensive knowledge of specialist area/s, acquired through post graduate diploma or equivalent experience or training, plus further specialist knowledge or experience to master's level equivalent
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- An understanding of the background and aims of current healthcare policy, appreciating the implications on engagement.
- A good understanding of the relationship between the Department of Health and Social Care, NHS England, Integrated Care Systems (including Integrated Care Boards), and individual provider organisations. A/I
- Previous experience of budget responsibility, involvement in budget setting and working knowledge of financial processes A/I
- Experience of working with, and building and developing successful professional relationships with, a range of stakeholders (internal and external).
- Experience of managing and motivating a team, including managing work performance of individuals and team.
- Ability to provide and receive, convey and present highly complex, sensitive and/or contentious information to large groups, responding openly to questions to ensure full understanding and engagement.
- Possess highly developed communication skills with the ability to communicate on highly complex matters and difficult situations.
- Ability to effectively communicate with clinical, academic, and all levels of internal and external colleagues.
- Demonstrates advanced analytical abilities with proficiency in extracting qualitative and quantitative data from diverse sources and presenting findings in a clear and concise manner
- Demonstrates proficiency in analysing both numerical and written information, evaluating alternatives, and formulating well-founded conclusions.
- Possesses extensive expertise in delivering high-level executive leadership, combining vision, strategic planning, and strong political acumen
- Capable of independently making tough decisions when needed, applying sound judgment even without explicit guidance or precedent, and consulting senior colleagues when appropriate
- Skilled in creating, maintaining, and overseeing information systems that facilitate innovation projects
- Exhibits advanced critical thinking abilities
