Schools in Kingstanding and Perry Barr, Birmingham are seeking caring, patient, and committed Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants (SEN TAs) to provide targeted support to pupils with a range of learning, communication, and social-emotional needs.
SEN TAs are vital to helping children achieve academically, socially, and emotionally. In this role, you will provide 1:1 and small group support , assist teachers with differentiated lessons, and help pupils develop confidence, independence, and self-regulation.

Your Role as an SEN TA
Your key responsibilities include:
Providing 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEN
Supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or other learning difficulties
Adapting learning materials and resources to meet individual needs
Encouraging positive behaviour and helping pupils self-regulate
Supporting social, emotional, and communication development
Observing, recording, and reporting pupil progress to teachers and SENCOs
Assisting pupils with transitions between activities or classrooms
Supporting therapy or intervention sessions
Helping pupils with personal care when necessary
You will be a consistent, calm, and supportive presence, helping pupils navigate academic and social challenges while fostering independence and confidence.
