East Boldon Infant School is at the heart of the local community and prides itself on encouraging a happy, warm, friendly environment built on our character values of kindness, respect, resilience, patience and honesty and where pupils are encouraged to reach their full potential.  Our high standards were recognised in our recent Ofsted Inspection (May 2026) where we successfully achieved the Strong Standard across all areas.

The Governing Board wish to appoint an enthusiastic, talented and dedicated SENDCo and class teacher to join our highly motivated staff team. We are looking for an outstanding teacher, who enjoys taking an active role in school development.

We are looking for a practitioner who has a passion for Early Years and Infant teaching and in particular SEND and Inclusive practices to bring fresh ideas and the motivation to continually progress our vision for improvement.

This post has a full-time teaching commitment with allocated time for SEND in addition to PPA.

The candidate should:

• Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Early Years/Key Stage 1 curriculum.
• Be a highly effective and dedicated teacher committed to raising standards.
• Have an excellent understanding of the current SEND Code of Practice and procedures.
• A secure knowledge of the updated Ofsted Framework Toolkit.
• An ability to strategically lead and develop SEND across school.
• Hold the National Award for SENDCo or working towards the award currently.
• To work closely with staff, families and external agencies to ensure outstanding support.
• Be hardworking, proactive and forward thinking.
• Show a willingness to work effectively with colleagues as part of a team and parallel teacher to plan exciting and motivating learning opportunities and experiences.
• A passion to enable inviting environments for our children.
• An excellent knowledge of assessment and procedures to support progression of all pupils.
• The commitment to contribute to the values and ethos of the school and the wider community.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and understand the importance of working with families to enable the best outcomes for our children.
• A secure understanding of safeguarding.
