What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Class Teacher to join our Infant School on Main Pay Scale (MPS). This role will involve:

• Planning and delivering high-quality, engaging learning experiences that embody our vision and values.

• Teaching across the Infant age range with a focus on early reading, phonics, anddeveloping writing for purpose and pleasure.

• Differentiating effectively to meet the needs of pupils with a wide range of abilities, including those with SEND and EAL.

• Working collaboratively with staff, parents and the wider Clarendon community to support pupil progress, wellbeing and belonging.

• Contributing to the school’s improvement priorities, particularly in enhancing continuous provision and raising Early Years outcomes.

This is a chance to shape young learners’ first steps in education in a federation committed to professional growth and collaborative practice.

You will be:

• A reflective and creative teacher who inspires curiosity and resilience in young pupils.

• Confident in teaching phonics and early reading, with a clear commitment to raising reading and writing outcomes.

• Skilled at adapting teaching to meet diverse needs, including pupils with SEND and those learning English as an additional language.

• Collaborative and warm, with excellent communication skills for working with colleagues, parents and the service family community.

• Committed to the Clarendon Promise: kind, persistent, curious, respectful and a team player.

We welcome applications from early-careerteachers and experienced practitioners who are motivated to have a strong impact on children’s learning and life chances.

What the school offers its staff

• A supportive federation culture where staff, pupils and families work together to achieve the best outcomes.

• Professional development aligned to our school improvement priorities, with opportunities to develop expertise in early years, phonics, reading and writing.

• The chance to teach in a beautiful Wiltshire location close to Salisbury Plain with a friendly and committedschool community.

• An inclusive working environment that values diversity and supports wellbeing.

Further details about the role

Our vision – Always A Little Further – drives us to grow curious children through highly engaging learning experiences that foster “out of the box” thinking and widen life choices. The Clarendon Promise underpins daily life at school: we are kind, we never give up, we are curious, we are respectful, we are a team, we are brilliant.

Current context and priorities:

• Strong commitment to inclusive practice – 27.4% SEND (including 9.5% with EHCPs) and 17.1% EAL.

• School improvement priorities include improving early years provision and GLD, strengthening phonics and early reading, improving reading outcomes to reach broadly in line with national expectations, and raising writing for purpose and pleasure.
