KS1 Teaching Assistant

Our client, an esteemed primary school in Edgbaston, West Midlands, is seeking a talented and dedicated Full-time KS1 Teaching Assistant to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting the educational and personal development of young learners.

As a Full-time KS1 Teaching Assistant , you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality learning experiences to our Key Stage 1 (KS1) students. Working closely with our experienced teaching staff, you will assist in creating and implementing engaging lesson plans, providing targeted support to individual students, and fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Providing one-on-one or small group support to students, helping them to achieve their learning goals and overcome any difficulties they may face.
• Collaborating with teachers to plan and deliver engaging and age-appropriate lessons, ensuring that all students are actively engaged and making progress.
• Implementing behaviour management strategies to maintain a safe and positive learning environment, in line with the school's policies and procedures.
• Monitoring and assessing student progress, and providing regular feedback to teachers to inform their planning and support.
• Assisting with the preparation of classroom resources, displays, and other materials to support student learning.
• Participating in professional development opportunities to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge.
• Undertaking any other reasonable duties as assigned by the class teacher or the school leadership team.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications, skills, and experience:

• A relevant qualification in teaching, education, or a related field, such as a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role, ideally within a KS1 setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
• A strong understanding of child development, learning theories, and effective teaching strategies.
• The ability to adapt your teaching approach to meet the diverse needs of individual students.
• A patient, flexible, and adaptable mindset, with a genuine passion for supporting the education and well-being of young learners.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
