The Opportunity & Role Profile
This busy primary school requires a reliable and practical Caretaker to oversee the security, maintenance, and day-to-day cleanliness of the school buildings and grounds. The role involves key holder duties and ensuring the premises are safe and welcoming for younger pupils.
Core Responsibilities & Duties Scope
Access Anchor: Performing key holder duties, managing alarm systems, and securely locking up and opening the premises at required times.
Maintenance Mechanic: Carrying out routine minor repairs, general maintenance, and ensuring external contractors adhere to site rules.
Safety & Security: Overseeing site security, monitoring CCTV, and ensuring clear pathways and safe external areas.
Compensation & Benefits
Essential Requirements: Proven experience in a maintenance or site role, strong practical skills, and a trustworthy and flexible approach to working in an educational environment.
Salary: Competitive salary paid on the local government scale (expected to be £24,000 – £29,000 per annum).
Support: Generous Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) and supportive leadership
