Post: Teacher Assistant - PE & Outdoor Learning
Required: As soon as possible
Contracts: Permanent, 24.75 hours per week – Term time only plus INSET days (flexible working pattern to be agreed)
Salary: Actual - £16,633 - £18,043 plus £895 SEN Allowance per annum (FTE Salary - £29,542 - £32,046 plus £1,590 SEN Allowance per annum)
Location: Woodley & Farley Hill
Additional hours may be available on a supply casual basis alongside this contract as Learning Support Assistant
Addington school is part of the Ascendancy Partnership Trust, a multi-academy trust with deep community roots across the Berkshire area composed of a family of SEN schools all specialising in learning difficulties. Our main school site is located in Woodley, Reading and we also have a smaller Early Years Centre located in Farley Hill.
An opportunity has arisen within our PE and Outdoor Learning team for a Teacher Assistant to work collaboratively with the PE and class teams to support our pupils to engage in outstanding PE and outdoor learning.
It is desirable that you will have previous experience of working with pupils with special needs and will have prior experience of PE, Sports or Outdoor Learning. Qualifications in these areas are also desirable.
We are looking for a candidate who is able to work collaboratively as part of a fun and active team, but is also able to use their initiative. The candidate will need to have a positive approach to supporting pupils to learn, whilst being caring and flexible.
The job will be physically demanding, including setting up and putting away our large trampoline as well as other PE related equipment.
You will support with the delivery of PE lessons, run small group activities and lunchtime clubs, organise and lead offsite sporting and outdoor learning opportunities.
