DVSA’s Connected and Automated Mobility Services (CAMS) programme is delivering the UK’s pioneering In‑Use Regulation Scheme for self‑driving vehicles. As IURS Delivery Manager, you will lead the development and day‑to‑day operation of this high‑profile regulatory service, ensuring robust governance, data and processes. Working closely with government, regulators and industry, you will build capability, lead investigations, develop a high‑performing team and represent DVSA in complex, technically evolving and nationally significant engagements shaping the future of road safety.

Your responsibilities will include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Support the development and implement the In-Use Regulation scheme (IURS) for automated vehicles.

  • Coordinate multi‑disciplinary incident investigations (from traffic infractions to serious collisions), liaising with the Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA), law enforcement, local authorities, and statutory investigators.
  • Undertake and lead on investigations where the business dictates. This will include scoping the investigation/audit, conducting full and thorough investigations in-line with legislation and internal procedures, carrying out testing, and production of quality investigation reports.
  • Act as DVSA’s operational lead with the Department for Transport (DfT)/Centre for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CCAV), VCA, local authorities, operators, and other government bodies on IURS service matters and joint delivery.

Great line management is important to us as an organisation, and we will equip and support line managers to develop the skills they need. We aim to empower line managers to create teams where people can flourish and deliver excellent outcomes for the public.
