Start Date: Immediately A range of specialist schools and alternative provisions in Sheffield are seeking resilient and compassionate SEMH Teachers to support students with social, emotional and mental health needs. About the Schools:
Schools across Sheffield are looking for dedicated SEMH Teachers who can build positive relationships and maintain calm, structured and trauma-informed learning environments. These settings prioritise consistency, emotional wellbeing and supportive behaviour approaches to help students feel safe, engaged and ready to learn. About the Role:
As an SEMH Teacher , you will deliver tailored lessons, manage challenging behaviour positively, and support students with a range of additional needs. This role is ideal for teachers who are patient, adaptable and passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to education and achieve positive outcomes. Responsibilities: * Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to students with SEMH needs * Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils * Manage behaviour using consistent and supportive strategies * Create a safe, structured and inclusive classroom environment * Adapt learning to meet individual student needs and abilities * Work closely with support staff and external professionals where required * Maintain safeguarding and wellbeing standards at all times Requirements: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent * Experience working with students with SEMH or additional needs * Strong classroom and behaviour management skills * Calm, resilient and professional approach * Ability to build strong relationships and de-escalate challenging situations * Reliable and flexible availability This is an excellent opportunity for an SEMH Teacher in Sheffield to make a meaningful impact within supportive specialist settings while helping students develop both academically and emotionally.
