We’re excited to welcome an Executive Assistant to our Retail Products function, a team focused on developing propositions that drive growth and deliver exceptional value for our members. This is a fast-paced environment at the heart of the business, where your ability to stay organised, composed and forward-thinking will make a real impact.
In this role, you’ll support directors and senior leaders, managing complex diaries, coordinating meetings and travel, and providing seamless organisational support. You’ll be confident working with autonomy, proactive in anticipating needs, and adaptable to changing priorities. Strong relationship-building skills will be key, as you engage with a wide range of stakeholders across a collaborative, high-performing team.
You’ll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations, demonstrating excellent communication, discretion and attention to detail. If you’re solutions-focused, highly organised and energised by a varied role, this is a great opportunity to contribute at the centre of a growing and influential function.
At Nationwide, we offer hybrid working wherever possible. More rewarding relationships are supported through our hybrid approach, bringing colleagues together across our UK-wide estate, whilst also supporting generous access to home working. We value our time in the office to solve problems, to learn, and to feel connected.
For this job, you'll be assigned to our nearest regional hub. There will be a need to regularly connect with colleagues for collaboration events in one of our office sites. This is anticipated to be two times a year in any or our UK offices. If your application is successful, your hiring manager will provide further details on how this works.
If we receive a high volume of relevant applications, we may close the advert earlier than the advertised date, so please apply as soon as you can.
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you’ll provide proactive, high-quality administrative support to directors and senior leaders across the function, ensuring they remain organised, well prepared and focused on strategic priorities. You’ll manage complex diaries, coordinate travel and expenses, and deliver accurate, timely support that keeps a fast-paced environment running smoothly.
You’ll be confident handling multiple demands, anticipating needs and adapting to changing priorities, while building strong relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Your ability to bring structure, clarity and organisation will be key to enabling senior leaders to perform at their best.
About you
As a minimum you will have:
Executive Assistant experience with a solid track record in high‑level administrative roles such as Executive Assistant, Personal Assistant or Project Management Office support, demonstrating advanced planning, coordination and organisational capability
Microsoft Office proficiency with an excellent command of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams, with the ability to use these tools confidently to manage complex schedules, documentation and communication
Director level diary management, with extensive experience managing demanding diaries for senior leaders, including prioritising commitments, coordinating meetings across multiple stakeholders and navigating fast changing schedules
Relationship building, with proven ability to build and maintain strong, trusted relationships at all levels, using sound judgement, discretion and clear communication
Proactive learning mindset, you’ll be naturally inquisitive, motivated to understand how the Everyday Banking team and wider Retail Products function operate, and confident in seeking out information to stay fully informed
Independent and organised working style - Innovative, self‑motivated and able to work independently with confidentiality and pace, bringing a forward‑thinking, highly organised and collaborative approach. Skilled at prioritising, multitasking and adapting plans or responsibilities as needed in a dynamic environment
Our customer first behaviours put customers and members at the heart of how we work together. They are the set of behaviours that every colleague needs to display, in every role:
Feel what customers feel - We step into our customers’ shoes, using their feedback and insights to empathise with them and to understand their needs, so that every decision we make starts and finishes with our customers in mind
Say it straight - We are brave in speaking out and saying what we think – we’re honest and direct with good intent, openly sharing diverse perspectives to reach the best conclusions and using language everyone can understand
Push for better - We don’t settle for mediocrity, we challenge the status quo, taking responsibility for continuous improvement and personal development
Get it done - We prioritise what will have the greatest impact, we are decisive, and we take accountability for delivering brilliant customer outcomes
You can strengthen your application by showing how our customer first behaviours resonate with you, and where you may have already demonstrated these.

We forge our own path at Nationwide.

If you’re inspired by fairer finances, passionate about making a meaningful impact, and truly care about our customers, you’re one of us.
At Nationwide, you are challenged to grow and rewarded for doing so. Valued. Recognised. Inspired to be your best. As a community, we want our working lives to count. As a team, we celebrate what we achieve. As a standard-setter, we work for the good of customers, communities, and broader society.
