Automotive Quality Engineer

Recruit4staff are representing a leading manufacturing business in their search for an Automotive Quality Engineer to work in Wolverhampton.

Job Details:

* Pay: Up to £22.50 per hour (PAYE) or up to £27.15 per hour (Umbrella)
* Hours of Work: 7.00am to 3.00pm Monday to Friday, but flexibility is required, as it could involve possible Afternoon Shifts
* Duration: Temporary role for 6 months initially but this could be extended
* Benefits: Immediate start available and potential overtime opportunities.

Job Role - Automotive Quality Engineer

* Providing structured supplier technical assistance
* Ensure purchased components meet required standards for Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost
* Lead & support robust closure of all supplier quality related issues for all new model related programmes
* Using 8D methodology
* Improving Supplier capability
* Leading a variety of projects
* Supplier issue management
* Developing relationships with a variety of internal stakeholders and supplier representatives
* Assess & implement escalation for supplier whom have recorded repeat / significant quality issues during pre build activities within the plant
* Working cross-functionally with Manufacturing/Engineering teams to provide technical problem solving support to any issues

Essential Skills Experience, or Qualifications:

* Previous experience as a Quality Engineer within a Automotive/EPMC environment
* Suitably qualified within Engineering / Quality
* Strong knowledge of 8D - Essential
* Experience with technical such as APQP, PPAP, 8D, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing etc
* Must have strong communication skills
* Understanding of Automotive quality processes

Desired Skills Experience, or Qualifications

* Six Sigma Green Belt
* Experience within BIW, Powertrain, Chassis, Trim or Electronics Supply Chain
* Experience working in a EPMC environment
