About The Role

Assistant Team Leader – Primary Pack (Red Days)

We’re looking for a hands-on Assistant Team Leader to support the smooth running of our manufacturing operations. This is a dynamic role where you’ll combine leadership with practical involvement, working alongside your team on the production floor while helping drive performance, quality, and continuous improvement.

Within this area, you’ll oversee key stages of the manufacturing and inspection process, including product inspection, labelling, sterilisation, and injector assembly. Attention to detail and adherence to GMP and cleanroom standards are essential to ensure products meet the highest quality standards before progressing through production.

You’ll act as a key support to the Team Leader, stepping in to oversee operations when needed, guiding team members, and ensuring production targets are met safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Oversee room performance, working both on and off machines and processes as required.
• Actively participate in daily workflows, providing clear instructions to ensure production demands are met.
• Initiate and track team performance discussions.
• Support process improvement activities and the implementation of new ways of working.
• Lead staff training and certification when required.
• Step into an overseeing role when needed to support room performance and output.
• Act as a go-to technician, supporting new starters and maintaining a high level of capability within the team.
• Review forward demand and work with the Area Lead to plan overtime, staffing, and training requirements.
• Carry out additional duties as required to support the production process, as directed by the Area Lead or Production Managers.
• Support the Team Leader in coaching team members to drive strong performance, including managing poor performance or behaviour in line with HR processes.
• Assist the Team Leader in promoting team motivation and engagement, ensuring individuals feel valued through recognition and constructive feedback.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong team player with the ability to lead and motivate others
• Experience in a hands-on manufacturing or production environment
• Good communication skills and ability to give clear instructions
• High attention to detail and accuracy, particularly in inspection and packing processes
• Computer skills and confidence working with production data
• Self-motivated, disciplined, and accountable
• Willingness to embrace change and drive improvements

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Experience of working in a regulated industry
• 5s / Kaizen / Lean working knowledge
