The Role
The school is looking for an inspirational Head of Science who can provide strong leadership and strategic direction while maintaining outstanding classroom practice.
Key responsibilities of the Head of Science include:
Leading and developing the Science department across KS3–KS5
Managing and supporting a team of Science teachers across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
Driving curriculum innovation and maintaining high standards of teaching and learning
Monitoring student progress and implementing strategies to raise attainment
Overseeing assessment, planning, and departmental resources
Contributing to whole-school leadership and strategic initiatives

The Ideal Candidate
The successful Head of Science will:
Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification
Have significant experience teaching Science across KS3–KS5
Demonstrate strong leadership experience and the ability to manage and develop a team
Have a proven track record of raising attainment and improving outcomes
Be passionate about developing both staff and students within the department
