The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week. Flexibility is required to occasionally work outside of normal working hours to meet the needs of the charity and its education partners. This is a permanent role. The salary is £31,443 per annum. Please note: this role requires frequent travel across London, as well as occasional national travel and overnight stays, as required. In this position, you will be expected to; - Effectively lead and coordinate the education programme in your region.
- Deliver workshops to children and young people aged 11-18 in a variety of education and youth settings, including assemblies, classroom-based workshops, small group work, and virtual sessions where required.
- Train teachers and professionals working with young people on homelessness, both in person and virtually.
- Work collaboratively with the wider national team to review and update programme content and resources, ensuring they reflect feedback, sector developments, the national curriculum and the needs of children and young people.
- Build strong partnerships with educational institutions in your region, including promoting the programme, generating income and meeting identified targets.
- Build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including other agencies and statutory services, to promote the programme and develop referral pathways for young people.
- Maintain accurate records of all activities, keep databases up to date, and oversee monitoring and evaluation procedures within your region.
- Keep up to date with issues affecting young people in your region and ensure the programme is tailored to local needs. This may include designing bespoke projects in line with programme standards and quality requirements.
- Recruit, train and support volunteers, including service users where appropriate, while acting as a positive role model.
- Carry out duties in line with organisational policies and procedures, including Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Lone Working, and Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, and apply the organisation's approach to working with young people.
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to the scope and nature of the role. To apply for this role, you must have; - Excellent ability to work productively with young people and professionals, with experience building rapport, managing behaviour and addressing sensitive topics appropriately.
- Confident delivering engaging presentations, workshops and training to large groups of children, young people and adults, both in person and virtually.
- Experience designing and developing high-quality, innovative educational resources, lesson plans and workshops for children and young people in line with the national curriculum and statutory guidance.
- Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to build partnerships with a range of professionals, influence senior stakeholders and communicate the impact of programmes and services.
- Experience working in target-driven environments, promoting services and generating income, using innovative approaches to maximise engagement and reach.
- Demonstrable understanding of the issues affecting children and young people in the UK. Knowledge of homelessness, healthy relationships and risk-taking is desirable.
- Self-motivated, positive and enthusiastic, with the ability to work independently and manage administrative responsibilities effectively.
- Highly computer literate, with experience creating digital media.
