Maintenance Engineer

Reed Recruitment are supporting a leading global manufacturer within the sustainable paper and packaging sector who are looking to strengthen their engineering team with the appointment of a Shift Engineer at their site near  Weston-Super-Mare .

This is a permanent position working on a 4-shift rotation , offering the opportunity to join a well-established business with significant investment, modern manufacturing equipment, and a strong focus on employee development, safety, and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

• Electrical and mechanical fault finding on automated production and manufacturing equipment
• Leading breakdown response activities to minimise downtime and maximise machine uptime
• Carrying out planned preventative and predictive maintenance activities
• Working with hydraulic, pneumatic, steam and mechanical drive systems
• Fault finding and maintenance of AC drives, including Siemens, ABB and SSD systems
• Supporting and troubleshooting Siemens S5/S7 and Allen Bradley PLC-controlled machinery
• Collaborating closely with production teams to improve equipment reliability and performance
• Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, safety and output

The successful candidate will be a proactive engineer with strong fault-finding capabilities, excellent communication skills and a commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.
