Clinical Operations Leadership
- Lead oversight clinical operations at the UK level, including study feasibility, implementation and execution, oversight of ViiV-sponsored studies
- Coordinate closely with medical advisors, field medical teams, external CROs, GSK clinical operations
- Establish strong links with global clinical development programmes
- Ensure UK input into company clinical research strategy aligned to market needs
- Responsible for being Study Accountable Person (SAP) for UK ISS/SCS studies
- Maintain regular contact with PI for all studies
- Obtain regular updates on study status, progress with milestones and financial milestones and early identification of delays
- Maintain multiple study databases to ensure up to date tracking of ISS/SCS studies
- Ensure all ISS/SCS studies have complete publication plans and co-ordinate review of all publications
- Quarterly safety reporting for all applicable ISS/SCS studies
- Support health outcomes and market access activities
- Contribute to real-world evidence generation and study planning
- Support development and dissemination of publications
- Lead on strategic evidence planning and local data generation initiatives
- Provide medical support to the cross functional team on across the range of ViiV promoted assets and non-promotional activities
- Provide expert clinical input to support Medical Affairs projects across ViiV UK
- Partner with cross-functional teams to shape and deliver short- and long-term medical strategy
- Work closely with regulatory, commercial, clinical operations, and market access teams
- Provide medical input into promotional and non-promotional materials through copy approval
- Support brand-aligned teams in strategy development and execution
- Support and enable Medical Scientific Liaisons (MSLs) and Key Account Managers (KAMs)
- Develop and maintain trusted relationships with external experts and organisations, including healthcare professionals, policy makers, payers, patient advocacy groups
- Represent ViiV as a credible scientific leader in the UK HIV community
Qualifications & Skills:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
- GMC-registered medical doctor or GPhC-registered pharmacist
- ABPI Signatory status
- Strong working knowledge of the ABPI Code of Practice
- Experience in medical affairs and/or clinical development roles
- Understanding of clinical operations, including company- and investigator-sponsored studies
- Knowledge of the UK healthcare environment
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
- Experience in HIV/AIDS therapy area
- Experience supporting or leading product launches, including NICE/SMC/AWMSG submissions
