Operational Support Officer

Salary: £29,064 to £31,537 per annum

Grade: G

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full Time

Location: Richmond Area, North Yorkshire

The Housing Standards team are responsible for ensuring the Councils social housing portfolio of circa 9,000 dwellings is maintained to meet all current statutory, regulatory, and legislative standards.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Operational Support Officer within our growing Housing Standards Contracts Team. Our Service The purpose of our Service is to provide quality, affordable, healthy, and sustainable homes that meet the present and future needs of all our tenants. The Housing Standards team is made up of five closely linked areas of housing expertise i.e., construction, repairs, improvements, contracts and safety. Each team consisting of suitably qualified, skilled, and experienced trade operatives, surveyors, or contract supervisors.

Your New Role As an Operational Support Officer, you will work within the Contracts team and play a key role in the day to day management of external contractor work. The core focus of the post is to be the principal point of contact for enquiries into the team, dealing with reactive repair requests from tenants, raising works orders, purchase orders and processing invoices.

What We're Looking For

Essential: Strong organisational and communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, excellent customer service skills and a willingness to learn and develop within a contract management role. Ability to build positive working relationships with tenants, contractors and colleagues.

Desirable: Experience within housing, contract administration or contractor management environments. Personal Attributes We're looking for someone who is proactive, organised and customer focused, with a positive approach to problem solving. You will be comfortable working independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to delivering excellent services and continuously improving the customer experience.

Additional Information

After training and induction has been completed hybrid working is available with a minimum of 2 days working from the Council offices. Working hours are 8.30am to 5.00pm Monday-Thursday and 8.30am to 4.30pm Fridays.
