Driver/Labourer (Driving), Southampton

BERRY RECRUITMENT are looking for a driver/labourer!

Key Duties and Responsibilities Estate and Environmental ManagementCarry out regular inspections of communal areas, bin stores, drying areas, parking areas and surrounding estate land.Remove litter, fly-tipping and other environmental issues where appropriate.Assist in keeping communal areas clean, safe and free from hazards.Report repairs, defects, graffiti, abandoned items and other estate management issues.Support estate improvement activities and environmental action days as required.Monitor the condition and cleanliness of communal facilities and report concerns promptly.

Driver Duties Drive council vehicles in accordance with council policies and procedures.Transport equipment, materials and waste between sites as required.Undertake vehicle checks and report defects or maintenance requirements.Ensure vehicles are kept clean, roadworthy and securely stored.

Health and Safety Support Complete routine health and safety inspections and record findings.Assist with fire safety, communal area and estate compliance checks.Maintain accurate records of inspections, actions and follow-up requirements.Report hazards and ensure concerns are escalated to the appropriate officer.Support compliance with council health and safety procedures.

Administrative Responsibilities Update monitoring systems and maintain inspection records.Complete basic administrative tasks relating to estate inspections and health and safety checks.Assist with data collection and reporting requirements.Respond to routine enquiries and pass information to the relevant service area.

Resident Support Act as a visible presence on estates and engage positively with residents.Signpost residents to the appropriate council service when issues are raised.Gather and share information relating to tenancy, neighbourhood or environmental concerns.Report resident concerns to the relevant Neighbourhood Officer or Warden for action.Support service delivery but not hold responsibility for managing resident cases or investigations.

What Success Looks Like Estates are clean, safe and well-presented.Routine inspections and checks are completed on time.Health and safety records are maintained accurately.Environmental issues are identified and reported promptly.Residents receive helpful signposting and concerns are passed to the appropriate officer.Reliable operational cover is provided during the recruitment period.
