A growing number of primary, secondary, and SEN schools in Tameside are seeking experienced Trauma Informed Practitioners to support pupils with SEMH, behavioural needs, and trauma backgrounds . 1 Particular school has the need for an immediate start that will be until July and very likely moving to a permanentl role from September 2026. These are schools where pastoral support is prioritised, behaviour systems are in place, and staff work collaboratively - meaning you'll be supported in delivering the consistent, relationship-led approach these pupils need. If you have experience supporting young people with trauma, SEMH, or complex needs , this is an opportunity to step into a role where your approach genuinely changes outcomes. About the Role - Trauma Informed Practitioner (Tameside)
As a Trauma Informed Practitioner , you will: Provide targeted emotional and behavioural support to pupils
Use trauma-informed and low-arousal strategies to support regulation
Build consistent, trusting relationships with vulnerable learners
Support pupils in accessing learning and managing classroom expectations
Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, pastoral teams, and external professionals
Contribute to behaviour plans, EHCP support, and intervention strategies You'll be working with pupils who require structure, consistency, and emotionally intelligent support to engage with education. Why These Schools? Strong focus on pastoral care and emotional wellbeing
