A creative secondary school in Plymouth is seeking an energetic and versatile Music Teacher to join its Expressive Arts faculty for a permanent September start.

Job Overview
Music plays a central role in this school's co-curricular and academic life. The successful candidate will deliver engaging practical and theoretical Music lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE Music / Vocational Music Practice), with potential Key Stage 5 A-Level Music / Music Technology delivery.
Working alongside departmental colleagues and peripatetic instrumental tutors, you will lead practical workshops in composition, performance, and digital production. This is a full-time, permanent position.
Key Responsibilities
Teach inspiring Music lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE / Vocational Music)
Guide pupils through composition projects using music software packages (e.g., Logic Pro, Sibelius, GarageBand)
Direct and support extra-curricular music ensembles, choirs, bands, and seasonal concert performances
Assess, track, and report on pupil progress across practical performance, coursework, and listening papers
Maintain practice suites, recording technology, and instrument inventories in coordination with technicians
Serve as a Form Tutor, providing holistic pastoral support and academic tracking
Collaborate with faculty members to continually update schemes of work and performance opportunities

Candidate Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognized UK teaching credentials (PGCE / SCITT)
Honors degree in Music, Music Performance, Music Technology, or a closely related discipline
Strong practical musical skills (keyboard/piano proficiency highly advantageous) and digital software literacy
Proven track record (or clear potential during training) for delivering strong GCSE/Vocational Music outcomes
Superb classroom management and the ability to inspire pupils of all musical backgrounds
