We aim to hire multi-talented individuals who can operate autonomously and at speed, with every role at the studio being hands-on working directly on our games.
Role Overview
We’re looking to bring on a level designer for a 6 month contract, with potential to extend further depending on how things go.
We’re looking for an experienced designer who can join our team and instantly hit the ground running, owning the level creation process from start to finish to deliver a suite of co-op challenge rooms that comprise physics based puzzles and combat that drive players to be creative with their problem solving.
These puzzle rooms will all be fed into a proc gen system that builds a ‘dungeon’ for players to traverse through. Helping to deliver a high quality proc gen system would be part of your role.
We’re looking to move fast so efficiency, clarity and trust all need to be high if we’re to hit our goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver dozens of awesome challenge rooms to fill our game with content for launch - combining great design of puzzles, peril and combat scenarios.
- This in effect means being able to crank out 1-2 ‘rooms’ a day with confidence. We want to move fast, try out ideas not over design our content.
- Feed back & assist on a procedural ‘dungeon creation’ system that is capable of building environments of the correct complexity & scope.
- Work with engineering teams to build the functionality needed for different room designs.
- Ideating & implementing secrets, jokes & gimmicks that drive meme & viral potential within our players.
Requirements
- 3+ years game design experience
- Shipped networked multiplayer titles
- Comfortable working in a small, fast-moving team
- Proficient with Unity & probuilder
- Passion for indie games and ‘friendslop’ titles
Please note: This is a 6 month contract, remote-working position, open to anyone within the UK.
