Job description

Strabane & District Caring Services has part-time contracts available for Domiciliary Care Workers to provide care in the community in the Cityside & Waterside areas of Derry/Londonderry. The Domiciliary Care worker will work as part of a team providing personal, domestic and social care at home to vulnerable individuals in the community (including frail elderly, those with physical and learning disabilities and mental health).

Responsibilities

• Providing domiciliary health care and other services to the community.
• Work as part of a team to provide personal and domestic care.

Skills and Qualifications

Essential Skills

• A full valid driving licence and access to transport for work purposes.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Teamwork skills.
• Understanding of health and safety in the workplace.
• Able to promote and deliver personal care.

Desirable Skills

• 6 months experience in formal care setting.
• NVQ level 2 in Care or equivalent.
• NISCC registered or willing to undertake if successful.
• Knowledge of domiciliary care minimum standards.
• Able to promote dignity and respect in care delivery.

Joining Bonus - £150 (T's & C's apply) Part time (16 hrs per week) Positions available in Derry/Londonderry (Cityside & Waterside areas, limited availability in Strabane area) Nights/Beds 7pm to 11pm - Great flexibility for those seeking a good work/life balance ( Monday to Thusday : £13.15 per hour, Friday to Sunday: £14.50 per hour) , 35p per mile. Mileage rate: 35p per mile Successful applicants must be willing to carry out Access NI check. Having a criminal conviction will not necessarily prohibit you from working with Strabane & District Caring Services. This will depend on the information provided and obtained from disclosure certificate, as well as the position applied for. Access NI Code of Practice is available from Strabane & District Caring Services is a community-based, non-profit organisation providing domiciliary health care and other services to the community.
