Community Activator Coach Apprenticeship

£12.48k per annum

Summary

We are looking for someone keen to get into coaching within a community cricket environment. The role will involve assisting and coaching at our community projects.

Wage

£12,480 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

Contract will be for 30 hours a week. Hours of work will be flexible based on the sessions engaged. Evening and weekend work maybe needed.

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.

What you'll do at work

As a Community Activator Coach Apprentice you will:

• Assist and coach at sessions run by ECiC
• Develop positive relationships participants at sessions
• Help plan and promote sessions and programmes withing ECiC
• Establish, maintain and develop effective partnership working with stakeholders including relevant external agencies and organisations
• Complete monitoring, evaluation and session recordings using internal and external systems.
• Attend all scheduled supervision, meetings and training events.
• Undertake professional development by participating in staff development (CPD) and training activities.
• Any other duties as reasonably requested by the line manager / organisation.

Alongside these responsibilities, you'll also be working towards your Community Activator Coach L2 qualification over the duration of 15 months.

  • Encourage individuals' participation, motivation and to change their behaviour towards sport or physical activity.
  • Contribute to inclusive, safe and effective sessions.
  • Plan, follow, adapt, and deliver session plans, based on participant needs and feedback.
  • Use coaching styles for sport or physical activity sessions meeting the participants needs and motivations.
  • Promote the benefits of a lifelong activity habit.
  • Use techniques to build rapport with participants.
  • Carry out the tasks required before, during and after a community activity.
  • Support participants to overcome personal or societal barriers.
  • Manage individuals' behaviours within a group setting.
  • Work collaboratively with services and other community organisations to run events that make the best use resources.
  • Record and store data and information, in line with legislation and organisational policies and procedures.
  • Use suitable digital technology to deliver targeted messages to participant groups.
  • Adapt communication methods to meet the needs of participants and groups.
  • Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns within own scope of role and in line with organisational protocols.
  • Support equity, diversity and inclusion in line with legislation and organisational policies.
  • Support the mental health and wellbeing of self and participants.
  • Comply with health and safety legislation, regulations, risk assessment procedures, guidelines and procedures.
  • Participate in personal and professional development.
  • Maintain professional boundaries within scope of own role.

This training schedule has not been finalised. Check with this employer if you’ll need to travel to a college or training location for this apprenticeship.

Requirements

Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

Other requirements

The role will involve a certain amount of travel as the sessions can be anywhere in Essex. Where possible we will try to keep them local to the applicant but access to a car is essential.

No prior knowledge of cricket is needed, just a passion for sport and a wiliness to learn.
