Accountancy Practice recruitment specialists Clark Wood are working with a reputable and well-established independent firm of chartered accountants in Harrogate who are looking to add a Personal Tax Senior to their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Personal Tax professional to join a well-regarded firm offering a varied and rewarding role, working with a diverse portfolio of clients while benefiting from genuine opportunities for continued development.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing their own portfolio of personal tax clients, with the role being predominantly focused on personal tax compliance. Alongside this, you will have the opportunity to review simpler tax returns and become involved in a range of advisory and project work, including Making Tax Digital (MTD), disclosures, HMRC enquiries, and other ad hoc tax assignments.

Joining the Harrogate office, you will work closely with experienced tax professionals and partners, gaining exposure to a varied client base ranging from high-net-worth individuals to owner-managed businesses and their directors.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients
• Preparing and reviewing personal tax returns
• Reviewing simpler tax returns completed by junior team members
• Assisting with HMRC enquiries and disclosures
• Supporting advisory projects, including Making Tax Digital (MTD)
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships
• Liaising with HMRC and responding to client queries

Skills:

• ATT Qualified, CTA Studying or Qualified, or Qualified by Experience
• Previous personal tax experience within an accountancy practice is essential
• Strong technical knowledge of UK personal tax compliance
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills
• Ability to manage a portfolio of clients effectively
