Assistant Headteacher - Pastoral
Moon Hall School is seeking an exceptional and compassionate Assistant Headteacher (Pastoral) to join our Senior Leadership Team.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader who is passionate about ensuring every child feels safe, supported, valued and ready to learn. Working closely with the Executive Headteacher and leadership team, the successful candidate will lead all aspects of pastoral care, wellbeing, attendance, behaviour and safeguarding culture across the school.
Moon Hall School is a thriving independent specialist school for pupils with dyslexia and associated learning differences. Our staff are united by a commitment to helping young people develop confidence, resilience and independence so that they can achieve success both academically and personally.
The Role
The Assistant Headteacher (Pastoral) will:
Provide strategic leadership for all pastoral systems across the school.
Lead on attendance monitoring, intervention and improvement strategies.
Work closely with families, external agencies and key stakeholders to support student wellbeing and engagement.
Promote a positive school culture where pupils feel known, valued and supported.
Support the school's safeguarding culture and work closely with the Designated Safeguarding Leads.
Lead and develop pastoral staff, ensuring high standards of care and support.
Use data and insight to identify trends, implement interventions and improve outcomes.
Support student transition, inclusion and personal development.
Play a full and active role as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to whole-school improvement and strategic planning.
