JOB DESCRIPTION Personal Assistant A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELFI am an 18-year-old young man living in the Llantrisant area with my parents. I have ADHD, ASD and a speech & language disability. I am funny, have a good sense of humour and enjoy going to the cinema, bowling and trampoline parks. I enjoy watching planes and racing cars on YouTube and I like being outdoors for moderate walks, on bike rides and I enjoy travelling by car and on public transport.
I am looking for a Personal Assistant to support me with my independence and to keep me safe in the community.
PLACE OF WORK
The main purpose of the job is to accompany me to places I enjoy, whilst ensuring my safety at all times.
HOURS OF WORK
3 hours per week – on the weekends.
RATE OF PAY
£14.20 per hour plus 45p per mile for the required journeys we make together in your car.
TASKS INVOLVED
• Talking to me and building up a good trusting relationship. • Supporting me to go out and do things socially. • Accompanying me out for walks / exercise. • Trips to the cinema, bowling etc. • Support me with handling money. • Ensuring my safety is always priority. TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
• A good sense of humour is important, but must also be reliable, trustworthy, flexible and have patience. • Mature attitude, calm and energetic. • Non-smoker. • A driver with own car and business class insurance. • Experience of working with young people with ADHD/Autism is preferred.
ABOUT THE JOB
This post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS check. Though a part-time job, this is a permanent position and is subject to submission of a National Insurance number. A probationary period will apply in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly on receipt of a payslip from Dewis Centre for Independent Living. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to attend any training that is identified as necessary.
