Education and Experience Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Applicants must hold QTS, demonstrating their professional competence and readiness to teach.
Enhanced DBS Check: A current Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate registered on the update service is required to ensure safeguarding standards are met.
References: Two references are necessary, including one from the candidate’s previous employer, to verify suitability and experience.
Teaching Experience: At least five years of teaching experience in the UK is essential, showcasing practical expertise in educational settings.
Excellent spoken and written English.
Strong maths and English subject knowledge across a range of year groups
First Aid and Safeguarding Training: Applicants should possess current first aid and safeguarding qualifications, or be willing to update these at their own expense when necessary.

It is essential that the teacher is able to differentiate in small group lessons to accommodate different learning styles, interests and abilities, in order to offer the highest quality, bespoke tuition.
Outstanding communication skills are required, enabling clear and effective interaction with students, colleagues, and parents.
A consistently positive and approachable attitude is vital, fostering a welcoming and supportive environment for students and staff.
Teaching Responsibilities
Teachers are expected to foster a calm and supportive classroom environment, building meaningful connections with students to enhance their learning experience. Lessons should be delivered in an engaging manner, tailored to meet the individual needs of each student through personalised, face-to-face teaching.
Adaptability is essential, with lessons adjusted as necessary for both individual pupils and small groups, ensuring that different ages and abilities are accommodated. Teachers should encourage students to progress at their own pace and actively recognise their achievements, supporting both academic and personal growth.
An understanding of the impact of emotional and social learning on academic performance is fundamental, with teachers demonstrating effective approaches to educating the whole child.
Teachers are required to use the centre’s computer system to record each student’s attendance and detailed lesson notes consistently and promptly.
A close working relationship with parents must be maintained, with regular updates provided on students’ progress. Additionally, teachers are responsible for assigning homework to students as necessary, supporting ongoing learning outside of lesson time.
