Commis Chef

Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Commis Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team in Newquay. This permanent, full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary skills in a vibrant hospitality and catering environment. As a Commis Chef, you will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation, and contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals under the guidance of senior chefs.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and workstations.
• Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are adhered to at all times.
• Support the team in menu planning and ingredient sourcing.
• Help with the presentation of dishes to ensure they meet the restaurant's standards.
• Participate in stock control and inventory management.
• Contribute to a positive team environment and assist in training new kitchen staff.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably as a Commis Chef or similar role.
• Basic food hygiene certification.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
• A passion for food and a desire to learn and develop culinary skills.
