£13.45 - £14.45 per hourMajor Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Steel Tube Mill, Strip Joiner / Floop Operator to join a well-established business based in Dudley.
This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and motivated individual looking to secure a temp-to-perm position. We are looking for individuals with steel industry experience
Job Details:
- Location: Dudley
- Pay Rate:
- £13.45 per hour (Morning/Afternoon shifts)
- £14.45 per hour (Night shifts)
- Contract: Temp to Perm
- Shift Pattern: Rotating shifts (Monday to Friday):
- 6:00am – 2:00pm
- 2:00pm – 10:00pm
- 10:00pm – 6:00am
⚠️ Candidates must be able to work all three rotating shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and joining steel strip coils for continuous production
- Operating the floop (accumulator) system to maintain smooth material flow
- Using welding or shear equipment to join steel strip ends
- Monitoring production processes to ensure quality and efficiency
- Inspecting welds and materials to meet required standards
- Recording production data and reporting any issues
- Working closely with team members to minimise downtime
Requirements
- Previous experience within Steel industry (essential)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work effectively within a team
- Good understanding of health & safety practices
- Flexible, reliable, and willing to work rotating shifts
- Basic computer skills
- Someone with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
