Protocol Education is recruiting an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEND provision in Gateshead this September.

Working alongside experienced teachers and therapists, you'll support pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH and complex learning needs while delivering engaging learning activities that help every child thrive.

Role Details

• Full-time
• September 2026 start
• Monday-Friday
• 8:30am-4:00pm or 8:30am-4:30pm
• Term-time only
• Long-term opportunity

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons
• Lead intervention sessions
• Support pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis
• Promote positive behaviour
• Monitor progress and provide feedback

Requirements

• HLTA qualification or equivalent experience
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (essential)
• Excellent communication skills
• Positive and flexible approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
