Primary School Teacher

Verbier International School is seeking an outstanding, enthusiastic and internationally minded Primary School Teacher to join our Primary team for the Winter Term 2027, from January through to the end of March.

VIS is a fast-growing, ambitious international day and boarding school located in the heart of the Swiss Alps. Our approach, Education with Altitude, combines academic ambition with excellent pastoral care, outdoor education and the distinctive opportunities offered by life in Verbier.

We are looking for a talented and flexible teacher who is passionate about primary education and committed to creating an engaging, supportive and stimulating learning environment.

The successful candidate will be confident teaching across the Primary age range and able to build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues and families. They should bring energy, creativity and initiative to the classroom and be willing to contribute fully to the wider life of the school.

Experience of inquiry-based learning and the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) would be advantageous, although teachers from other strong primary curriculum backgrounds are also encouraged to apply.

Applicants should:

• Hold a recognised teaching qualification

• Have successful experience teaching primary-aged pupils

• Be an excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations for learning and behaviour

• Be internationally minded, flexible and collaborative

• Demonstrate strong pastoral care and a genuine commitment to pupil wellbeing

• Be willing to contribute to the wider academic, sporting and co-curricular life of the school

• Have an EU passport or valid Swiss work permit

Experience of the PYP, international education or the UK curriculum would be an advantage. French or another European language would also be beneficial.
