Contract: Temporary to Permanent We are currently recruiting for an experienced Bar / Plate Saw Operative to join our client's busy manufacturing operation in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced saw operative looking for a long-term position, with the opportunity to become permanent following a successful temporary period. The RoleAs a Bar / Plate Saw Operative, your responsibilities will include:
- Operating bar saw and plate saw machinery safely and efficiently.
- Cutting metal accurately to customer specifications and required dimensions .
- Reading and following cutting instructions, drawings and job specifications.
- Measuring materials and ensuring cuts are completed accurately.
- Checking finished materials for quality and accuracy.
- Operating a counterbalance forklift to load and unload stock and materials.
- Moving and storing metal stock safely around the warehouse and production area.
- Loading and unloading deliveries using the forklift.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Following all company health & safety procedures.
- Working efficiently to meet production and customer requirements.
- Previous experience operating both bar saw and plate saw machinery.
- A valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence – this is essential for the role.
- Previous experience working with metal products/materials.
- The ability to accurately measure and cut materials to specification.
- Good attention to detail and a strong focus on quality.
- A good understanding of workplace health & safety.
- A reliable and hardworking approach.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- £15.38 per hour
- Monday–Friday, 08:30–16:30
- 37.5 paid hours per week
