OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in developing their career within financial services, providing valuable experience with a variety of accounting software and systems. The successful candidate will support the accounts department by managing financial data, processing transactions, and assisting with day-to-day financial operations. Duties Assist with accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments
Input and maintain financial data using accounting software such as Sage 50
Reconcile invoices and expense reports with supporting documentation
Support month-end and year-end closing activities
Perform data entry tasks related to financial transactions and records
Assist in preparing financial reports and statements as required
Collaborate with other departments to ensure accuracy of financial information
Maintain organised records of all transactions in compliance with company policies
Requirements Must have experience of Sage.
Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail
Knowledge of accounts payable processes and financial services industry practices
Proficiency in using Excel or other spreadsheet programmes for data analysis and reporting
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Previous experience working within an accounting or finance environment is desirable but not essential
A recognised qualification in accounting or finance is advantageous but not essential
