Reporting Officer

At the end of 2025, The University of Manchester launched Challenge Accepted, our first major fundraising and volunteering campaign. We are uniting alumni, donors, staff, students and partners to tackle some of the world’s toughest challenges and transform lives locally and globally.

To deliver this ambition, we need excellent information: clear, accurate reporting that helps colleagues understand progress, make decisions and demonstrate impact.

We are looking for a Reporting Officer to join the Information & Insight team in the Division of Development and Alumni Relations (DDAR). This role will support the collection, management and reporting of activity across fundraising, volunteering and supporter engagement, helping ensure that campaign and divisional data is trusted, understood and used well.

You will:

• Design, develop and deliver accurate, timely reports that support Challenge Accepted and wider DDAR activity
• Work with colleagues across DDAR and the wider University to collect, categorise and manage data
• Help develop clear definitions, processes and documentation so reports are trusted and consistent
• Explain data and insight clearly so colleagues can understand progress, patterns and decisions
• Use CRM, reporting and data tools to improve the quality, usefulness and efficiency of reporting

About You

We are looking for someone organised, analytical and collaborative, with experience of developing and delivering reports and working with data. You will be comfortable manipulating datasets, using CRM systems and reporting tools, and building positive relationships with stakeholders.

Essential Criteria:

• Experience of effectively developing and delivering reports
• Experience of stakeholder management, effective planning, and process development
• Experience of producing data analysis and insight to steer business decisions
• A keen eye for detail with the ability to produce and own accurate data and work collaboratively to identify and correct errors
• The ability to explain data, complex information, patterns and meaning to broad and varied audiences in a digestible way

Desirable Criteria:

• Knowledge of the importance of reporting, and how to develop, manage and deliver it effectively
• Knowledge of how to present and explain data in an audience appropriate way
• Knowledge of how to manipulate large datasets
• Knowledge of how to interrogate CRM databases using queries or equivalent tools or techniques
• Experience of using CRM systems
