£39.96k - £48.12k per annumPart-time
Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the Solihull Community Respiratory Team. Working as part of a friendly multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialist assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for patients with respiratory conditions across a variety of settings, including community venues, hospital sites and patients' homes. You will work flexibly across the service, supporting respiratory outpatient, community services and pulmonary rehabilitation programmes to help patients improve their independence, function and quality of life. Main duties of the job
To provide specialist occupational therapy assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for patients with respiratory conditions across community, outpatient, pulmonary rehabilitation and home-based settings. The post holder will manage a varied caseload, delivering evidence-based interventions to improve patients' independence, function, self-management and quality of life. Key responsibilities include assessing functional ability, activities of daily living, fatigue, breathlessness and environmental factors; developing and evaluating individualised treatment plans; supporting pulmonary rehabilitation programmes; and providing education and advice to patients, carers and families. The post holder will work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team, liaising with GPs, consultants, nurses, physiotherapists, social care and other agencies to ensure coordinated patient-centred care. They will identify and respond appropriately to clinical risk, maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to discharge planning and ongoing management. The successful candidate will support service development, quality improvement, audit and governance activities, helping to deliver high standards of care and positive patient outcomes. They will also contribute to the supervision and support of students, therapy support workers and junior staff where appropriate. The role requires flexibility to work across multiple sites and community settings within the Solihull Community Respiratory Team. About us
University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust strives to have an inclusive culture where everyone feels like they belong, can thrive, knows that they add value and feels valued. We do this by developing compassionate and culturally competent leaders, being values driven in all that we do and by creating a welcoming and inclusive workplace that thrives on the diversity of our people. As such we want to attract and recruit talented individuals from all backgrounds, and for each of you to feel supported for the diversity you bring, to achieve your full potential. For those staff with a disability, including physical disability, long term health condition, mental health or neurodiverse condition, this also means being committed to making reasonable adjustments needed for you to carry out your role.
