We are partnered with a global engineering and infrastructure consultancy seeking a Principal Civil Engineer to join its growing Data Centre team. This is a senior technical leadership role supporting hyperscale and colocation developments across the UK and EMEA, and is a great opportunity for an experienced Principal Engineer to transition into the Data Centre sector, for those with transferable experience from large-scale industrial, energy or complex development projects encouraged to apply. 

Key Responsibilities - Principal Civil Engineer - Data Centres

• Provide strategic civil engineering leadership across data centre projects
• Lead, review and approve infrastructure designs
• Oversee site development packages including: Earthworks and levels strategies, Surface and foul drainage design, Highways and access arrangements, Utility coordination and external works, compliance with regulatory and approval processes
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including structural, MEP, geotechnical, environmental and project management functions
• Support client engagement and technical discussions
• Mentor and develop junior engineers within the team

Experience required - Principal Civil Engineer - Data Centres

• Degree qualified in Civil Engineering (or related discipline)
• Chartered Engineer (CEng MICE or equivalent) preferred
• Experience operating at Principal / Design Lead level
• Understanding of planning, highways, drainage and utility approval processes
• Experience delivering large scale infrastructure or mission critical projects
• Comfortable operating as technical authority within multidisciplinary environments
• Experience working within BIM-led delivery environments
• Experience in complex infrastructure, industrial or major development backgrounds
