Clinical Lead for Service Change and Reconfiguration (AHP)

Job summary
This is a unique opportunity to support DBTH as we journey through a period of transformational change.

The post is Trust-wide and will work across our three sites and other Trust or partner locations as required. The role will work closely with all divisions, directorates and corporate services, acting as a subject matter expert.

Main duties of the job
The postholder will provide senior, autonomous, clinical leadership to support the delivery of complex service change and reconfiguration within the Shape of DBTH pillar of the Reset Programme. The post holder will act as a clinically credible change leader, working independently to support Executive Leads and DBTHi in the delivery of agreed programme milestones, project outputs and benefits, ensuring change is safe, evidence-based, and co-produced.

The role will work across professional boundaries, support difficult decisions, challenge constructively and keep delivery focused on patient care, quality, access, productivity and financial sustainability. The post holder will also build improvement capability across the organisation so that change is planned well, implemented and sustained in practice.

Person Specification
Knowledge & Experience
Essential

• Significant senior clinical leadership experience within acute or system-wide NHS services.
• Experience of working as part of a multi-professional senior leadership team and consistently puts clinical and care professionals at the heart of decision making
• Demonstrable experience leading or contributing to complex service change, reconfiguration or transformation programmes.
• Strong change management and project working expertise, with the ability to work autonomously.
• Proven ability to engage credibly with senior clinicians, executives, commissioners and patients on contentious issues.
• Excellent appreciation of the relationship between the Trust, ICBs, NHS England and individual provider and commissioning organisations
• In-depth understanding of the NHS, social care, and local authority 'landscape' and interdependencies

Desirable

• Experience of system-level working across health and care organisations.
• Experience supporting public consultation or regulatory assurance processes.
• Experience of turnaround, elective recovery, urgent and emergency care, outpatient transformation, site strategy or workforce redesign.
• Familiarity with NHS planning, GIRFT, Model Hospital, productivity benchmarking, health inequalities and system partnership working.
• In depth knowledge of the impact of health inequalities on service utilisation and health outcomes

Qualifications & Training
Essential

• Registered AHP with current professional registration.
• Educated to master's level or able to demonstrate equivalent specialist knowledge gained through senior change, improvement, programme or operational delivery experience.
• Leadership or management development, or equivalent experience of influencing senior stakeholders.
• Evidence of continuing professional development

Desirable

• Formal training or qualifications in change management, programme management or quality improvement for example MSP, PRINCE2, Agile, Lean, QSIR, Six Sigma or other recognised methodology.
