Job title: Support Worker (Edinburgh Young Persons’ Service)
Location: LinkLiving’s Edinburgh office Hours: 37.5 hours per week (mainly Monday to Friday 9–5, with occasional evening and weekend work) We are looking for motivated and compassionate individuals to join LinkLiving’s Edinburgh Young Persons’ Service as a Support Worker. The Job In this role, you will support young people aged 16–25 affected by homelessness, trauma, or other life challenges. Some may also face additional barriers linked to being a New Scot or having care experience. Working in a person-centred and trauma-informed way, you will manage your own caseload and provide practical, emotional and social support to help young people build confidence, develop independence and achieve their goals. Support may include helping young people to: find and maintain suitable accommodationdevelop everyday living skills
manage challenges in their lives
access services and opportunities
build positive routines and relationships Young people may be living in temporary accommodation, supported flats, permanent housing, sofa surfing, or have nowhere to stay. You will work flexibly and creatively to meet individual needs while recognising each young person’s strengths and aspirations. We are looking for someone who shares our values of empathy, respect, integrity and caring. Previous experience or formal qualifications are not essential. Our Edinburgh Young Persons’ Service provides visiting housing support and supported accommodation for young people across Edinburgh. We are a friendly and supportive team committed to helping young people achieve positive outcomes. The role is rewarding but can also be challenging, requiring flexibility, resilience and confidence in working one-to-one with young people who may struggle to trust professionals.
