SEN Teaching Assistant

Monarch Education is currently recruiting experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to join our growing supply bank, supporting a large cluster of secondary schools across South Birmingham from September 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistants who have experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and are looking for flexible work across a range of supportive school environments.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support students with a broad range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), and Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC).
• Work closely with classroom teachers and SENCOs to deliver tailored support.
• Provide both 1:1 and small group interventions.
• Help create an inclusive and positive learning environment.
• Promote student engagement, progress, and independence.

Requirements

To be considered, you must have:

• A minimum Level 2 Teaching & Learning qualification (or equivalent).
• At least 6 months’ minimum experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a secondary school setting.
• Experience supporting pupils with special educational needs.
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills.
• A flexible, proactive, and positive approach to supporting young people.

Salary: £93.00-£127.58 per day (Dependent on experience)
