EYFS Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant - Specialist SEMH School

NextGen Teachers are recruiting on behalf of a specialist SEMH school in Batley for a compassionate and enthusiastic EYFS Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity to support young learners within an Early Years setting, helping children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs develop the foundations they need to thrive both academically and personally.

The school provides a nurturing and highly supportive environment for pupils who require specialist intervention and personalised support. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping children build confidence, develop positive relationships, and engage successfully in early learning experiences.

The Role

As an EYFS Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support young children with SEMH needs within an Early Years classroom environment.

Work closely with pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis to promote engagement and participation.

Assist in delivering play-based and structured learning activities that support the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

Experience working with young children within an EYFS, nursery, primary, childcare, or specialist educational setting.

Experience supporting children with Autism, speech and language needs, developmental delays, or additional learning needs would be advantageous but is not essential.
