Curriculum Leader - Construction FE
Curriculum Leader - Construction FE
At Blackpool and The Fylde College, we’re more than an education provider – we’re a driving force for opportunity, innovation and community growth. As one of the UK’s leading further education colleges and an exempt charity, we deliver high‑quality technical and professional education that transforms lives and supports regional prosperity. With over 12,500 students and around 1,000 colleagues, we’re proud to be an anchor institution driving social mobility, inclusion and success.
The Role
Are you ready to take the next step in your leadership journey and help shape the quality of learning and assessment across the college? We are seeking a motivated and forward-thinking Curriculum Leader (Quality) to drive improvements in learner progress, assessment practice, and quality processes across provision.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident practitioner who is passionate about how learning is designed, assessed and improved. The role is focused on leading the process of quality – ensuring that expectations, systems and standards are applied consistently and effectively – rather than managing a curriculum area or delivering teaching.
This is an additional responsibility role , ideal for someone looking to broaden their leadership experience and influence practice beyond their own area. You will work closely with Curriculum Managers and Programme Leaders to support quality improvement activity and strengthen assessment and learner progress across teams.
In this collaborative role, you will:
- Lead on improving the consistency and effectiveness of learning and assessment processes
- Support colleagues to strengthen assessment practice, standardisation, and learner outcomes
- Monitor and drive the implementation of quality systems and QIP actions
- Use data and quality intelligence to identify themes, risks, and areas for improvement
- Provide coaching and guidance to colleagues, without formal line management responsibility
This role is ideal for someone who wants to develop their leadership profile, influence practice across the college, and make a measurable impact on quality and student success.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Leading the implementation and consistency of learning and assessment processes , ensuring high standards across provision
- Driving improvement in assessment practice , including standardisation, exam readiness, and alignment with awarding body requirements
- Monitoring the effective use of quality systems and processes (e.g. QIP, assessment tracking, compliance) to ensure they are embedded in day-to-day practice
- Using data and quality intelligence to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement in learner progress and outcomes
- Coaching and supporting colleagues to strengthen assessment approaches and learner progress , without formal line management or performance responsibility
