Head of Family Law (4 PQE+)
Location: Luton Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Family Solicitor (4-6+ PQE) to take the next step in their career as Head of Family Law within a well-established and growing law firm. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious lawyer who is looking to combine fee-earning with leadership, playing a key role in shaping and developing a successful Family Law department. You'll have the autonomy to influence strategy, mentor a talented team, and contribute to the continued growth of the practice while maintaining a varied and interesting caseload. The Role
As Head of Family Law, you will lead and develop the department while managing your own caseload of predominantly private family matters. Responsibilities include: Leading, mentoring and developing the Family Law team.
Managing a varied caseload including divorce and separation, financial remedy matters, private children matters, domestic abuse and injunction applications, cohabitation disputes, and pre- and post-nuptial agreements.
Ensuring exceptional levels of client care and service.
Driving the growth of the department through business development and networking.
Developing departmental strategy and identifying new opportunities.
Supervising junior fee earners and support staff, providing guidance and training.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and professional contacts.
Representing the firm at networking events and helping to raise the profile of the Family team. About You Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with 4-6+ years' PQE in Family Law.
Strong technical knowledge across a broad range of private family matters.
Previous experience supervising or mentoring colleagues, with the confidence to lead a team.
Commercial awareness and an enthusiasm for business development.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
A compassionate and client-focused approach.
