Academic Governess – Belgravia

This lovely family are seeking an extremely capable Academic Governess to support three delightful boys aged 8, 10 and 10 during the after-school period. This is an educational and organisational role, with full household support already in place.

Hours: 25–30 per week, with potential for the hours and role to grow over time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3.00/3.30pm–7.30/8.00pm, plus one five-hour weekend half-day
Salary: £22–£35 net per hour
Start: To be agreed
Driving: Not required

Role Overview:
The Governess will oversee homework, support English and mathematics, guide revision and projects, encourage independent learning, and manage school communications and deadlines. The role also includes coordinating after-school activities and accompanying the children to extracurriculars, with occasional school collection on foot.

This position suits someone academically strong, organised, warm and genuinely passionate about learning. A candidate who naturally inspires curiosity will be an excellent fit.

Candidate Requirements:
Strong understanding of the British curriculum, especially Key Stage 2 / Year 6, with confidence moving into Key Stage 3
Excellent English and mathematics skills
Degree or equivalent; teaching, tutoring, early years or governess experience preferred
Outstanding spoken and written English
Creative, thoughtful, and interested in writing or literacy-rich activities
Highly organised and proactive
Non-smoker
Excellent references and willingness to complete full background checks

This is NOT a housekeeping role; the focus is entirely on education, structure and after-school support.
